WHEN IS WORK AVAILABLE?

Apple thinning begins in late Nov/Early December and continues through to mid/late January.

Apple harvest (picking) begins late Feb and continues through to mid/late May. 

HOW MUCH WILL I EARN?

All staff begin the season on the award hourly horticultural rate.

Most work will be paid on an hourly basis however, some work will be paid on a  piece rate basis. You will be notified in advance of this.

WHAT IS INVOLVED?

Apple thinning involves removing the small excess apples from the tree to allow the remaining fruit to grow and colour. It requires long hours of standing and climbing on ladders. 

​

Apple Harvest involves picking the ripe apples from the tree into picking bags which are then transferred into bins. This requires you to be able to carry and work wearing bags weighing up to 15kg. This work also requires long hours of standing and climbing on ladders.

Days generally begin at 6.30am and end at 3.45pm (weather dependent). 

DO YOU PROVIDE ACCOMMODATION?

Unfortunately we do not offer accommodation. Pemberton however, offers many different accommodation options for the seasonal workforce. Please let us know, if you require some suggestions.

WHERE IS THE ORCHARD LOCATED?

Our orchard is located approximately 7 kilometers from the Pemberton townsite. There is no local public transport so you will need to have your own means of getting to the orchard.
